Vintage Valentine Applique Quilt

Working on my 3rd block for my Vintage Valentine quilt. (Design/Pattern by Verna Mosquera)  It’s actually a Block-of-the-Month, but I’m doing this on my own…. It’s just gorgeous..I use a technique called turned-edge applique, and for some, they probably wouldn’t like it…It does take a little bit of extra work, but as much as I love applique, and detest needle-turn applique, this is my niche and so worth the extra effort!…Love it! A friend of mine turned me onto Sharon Schambers and this is her method…She is a magnificent quilter and has won many prestigious awards for her work…It would be an honor to get to meet her one day…On my bucket list…:) Here’ s a picture of the block I am working on now….Image

Needle turn is when you turn your edges with your needle as you sew…. Turned edge is when you use Elmer’s Disappearing Purple Glue to turn your edges under and then you sew….There are other ways of doing a turned edge, but I prefer this way……..I learned the technique from Sharon Schamber’s…Her quilts are magnificent!! Will send you more details in an email…
